Australian
of the Year Awards
Each year our nation celebrates the
achievement and contribution of eminent Australians through the
Australian of the Year Awards by profiling leading citizens who are role
models for us all. They inspire and challenge us to make our own
contribution to creating a better Australia.
There are four award categories: Australian of the Year; Senior
Australian of the Year (60+ years); Young Australian of the Year (16 -
30 years); Australia's Local Hero.

The
Bridge Award
The Bridge Award is a development program
for young people who are: 11 years 6 months – 14 years, and for young
people who, due to special circumstances, may experience barriers to
participating in The Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

Club
Achievement Awards
Since 1994 the Club Achievement Awards
have been recognising excellence in Queensland's club industry. The
awards aim to highlight the achievements of Queensland clubs across all
areas of club operations and to acknowledge the importance of all clubs,
big and small, in metropolitan and regional Queensland.

Domestic
and Family Violence Prevention Awards
These awards recognise and reward
innovation and best practice by dedicated individuals, groups,
government and non-government organisations who work towards the
prevention of domestic and family violence in Queensland.

The Duke of
Edinburgh's Award
The
Duke
of Edinburgh’s Award program is available to every young
Queenslander aged between 14 and 25 years. To receive a Gold, Silver or
Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award, participants complete a minimum of
between six months to two years participation in self-selected
activities. These activities include service to the community, skills
development, expeditions or explorations and physical recreation.

Healthy
Queensland Awards
The Queensland Government has set an
ambitious target to make Queenslanders Australia's healthiest people. To
help achieve this, the Queensland Government has launched the Healthy
Queensland Awards. This will be an annual state-wide competition to find
Queensland's Healthiest Community, Queensland's Healthiest School and
Queensland's Healthiest Workplace.
Keep Australia Beautiful Queensland is
proud to partner with the Department of Local Government Sport and
Recreation, the Department of Education Training and the Arts and
Queensland Health on this exciting initiative.

Minister's
Award for Excellence in Workforce Development
The Minister’s Awards for
Excellence in Workforce Development are for non-government organisations
in the community and disability services sectors. The awards were
established to develop a broader understanding of the importance of
workforce planning, management and development across the community and
disability service sectors and to recognise, value and celebrate good
practice by showcasing the strategies used by organisations to build the
capacity of their workers and enhance services to their clients.

Trust Queensland Annual Heritage Awards
The National Trust of Qld. welcomes
nominations from individuals, businesses, government authorities,
professional bodies and community organisations. These awards are
dedicated to everyone in the community who contributes to the
conservation and enjoyment of Queensland's heritage.

Women
'The Our Women, Our State Awards will
recognise the achievements of Queensland girls and women in building
brighter futures for other females in Queensland's science, engineering
and technology industries.

The Premier's Awards for Queensland
Seniors aims to: celebrate and recognise the voluntary contributions of

Awards for Excellence in Schools
The Showcase Awards for Excellence in
Schools provides Queensland State Schools the chance to shine in the
spotlight and the opportunity to share in more than $370 000 in grants.
The Showcase program is designed for Queensland State Schools and
features eight categories.
