Indigenous
Staff Scholarship
The Indigenous Staff
Scholarship Program was established for Indigenous staff (academic or
general) who have actively encouraged Indigenous students to participate
in higher education and complete their courses.
The scholarships enable staff to take
one year of leave from their university employment to undertake
full-time higher education study in their chosen academic or
professional area. This will recognise their commitment to assisting
students in higher education and enhance their own academic/professional
standing.

Indigenous
Support Program (ISP)
Under the Indigenous Support Program grants are allocated to higher
education institutions to meet the needs of Indigenous students and to
achieve the 21 goals of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander Education Policy (AEP).

Indigenous Women's Program (IWP)
The Indigenous Women's Program
contributes to the Australian Government's priorities for reducing
Indigenous disadvantage through enhancing Indigenous women's leadership,
representation, safety, wellbeing and economic status.

Indigenous Youth Mobility Program
Through the IYMP, Indigenous young
people (aged 16-24) from remote areas
(Sunshine Coast is considered a remote
area) can, with the support of
their families and community, relocate to one of the IYMP Host Locations
in Cairns, Townsville, Toowoomba, Newcastle, Dubbo, Canberra,
Shepparton, Adelaide, Perth or Darwin to complete the qualifications
they need to obtain sustainable employment. Qualifications include
nursing, teaching, accounting and business management. These are the
focus of IYMP in recognition of a high demand for these skills in remote
communities. |

ICP is a not for profit organisation, the purpose of which is the
development, promotion, administration and support of: Indigenous
Cultural Projects; Indigenous Heritage Projects; Reconciliation. |

Music
Bound Quick Response Travel Fund
The
Music Bound Quick Response
Travel Fund aims to help Indigenous music
coordinators attend professional development
opportunities in Australia. The objective of this
program is to support Indigenous arts workers to
have greater access to industry development
opportunities.

Public
Awareness Program
The Department of Families, Housing,
Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) provides funding
under this program for initiatives, projects and events that have
significant value in raising awareness within the wider Australian
community of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, society and
issues, including NAIDOC Week activities.

ANZ
Indigenous Traineeships
Indigenous school students across
Australia are being encouraged to apply for a position with ANZ's
Indigenous School Based Traineeship Program for 2010. The two year
Program enables Indigenous students to undertake a paid traineeship in
an ANZ branch and complete a Certificate II qualification at TAFE while
finishing high school. |

Indigenous Culture Support Program (ICS)
The Indigenous Culture Support program
supports the maintenance and continued development of Indigenous culture
at the community level, and Indigenous culture as a dynamic part of
Australian culture and identity.
ICS funds activities that encourage culturally vibrant Indigenous
communities and contribute to the cultural identity and wellbeing of
Indigenous individuals and communities.
